Located in the southern most tip of the country, Thanjavur is situated in the Cauvery delta of the state of Tamil Nadu. Thirunallar is a small town in Karaikal, India, in the Union Territory of Puducherry, and can be reached by road from the town of Karaikal, an enclave which lies within the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. Thirunallar is most noted for the shrine of Lord Sani (Saturn), Tirunallar Saniswaran Temple within the temple dedicated to Lord Darbharanyeswaran, a form of Lord Shiva.
Tiruchirapalli (Trichi) city is the administrative headquarters of Tiruchirapalli District in Tamil Nadu. Tiruchirapalli, the fourth largest city of Tamil Nadu, is situated on the banks of River Cauvery.
