Kochi is a well-established commercial port having a long history rooted back to the 13th century. It has been attracting traders and travellers from as long as 600 years. Famous for giant fishnets, Portuguese houses and ancient mosques. It came into being after its separation from the Kulashekhara Empire.
Present day Alleppey formerly known as Alluppuza owes its existence to Raja Keshavdas, a Diwan of Travancore who built the current densely populated city in 1762. He was the backbone in building the rich cultural and commercial system. Alleppey is a district rich in its own culture and a rich commercial hub that offers some of the greatest travel experiences for its guests. The beautiful travel destination of Kerala is fondly called the “Venice of the East”.
Thekkady, located in the Idukki district of the state of Kerala, is the place where the Periyar National Park is located. Thekkady lies very close to Kumily, which lies on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, spread across an area of 300 square miles, is home to thick evergreen forests, deciduous forests and a host of animal species, viz. elephants, sambar, tigers, Nilgiri Langurs, etc.
